Excel Problems

My Excel is beggining to act strangly. When I click on a
cell to hightlight several cells it jumps around and will
not highlight.I go to delete a row and it will delete two
or three rows at a time. I also tried to open a new
workbook and it would not open one. Can someone tell me
how to correct this problem? I thank you in advance.
