Excel open folder icon

When I open Excel and then want to open an Excel file and
click on the open folder icon, I get a list of my
documents. How can I set it so that when I click on the
open folder icon it opens to a list of my Excel documents

on the Open Files dialog box set the Files of type
to Microsoft Excel Files. Then you will only see Excel
files in your folder and any sub folders in the main
directory.

This is fair enough as you might have excel files in the
other folders.
