Excel ODBC Driver

I have spreadsheets that have text >= 255 Characters that some PC's
are throwing up on, and others that are working fine. I am connecting
to these spreadsheets using Excel ODBC Datasource.

Working PC:

Win2000 (SP2)
Excel ODBC Driver 4.00.6019.00 5/4/01
MSJet4.0 SP5
MDAC 2.7

Non Working PC:

Win2000 (SP3)
Excel ODBC Driver 4.00.6200.00 7/22/02
MSJet4.0 SP6
MDAC 2.7

Any Ideas?

FYI .. To fix I had to change this registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Jet\4.0\Engines\Excel\TypeGuessRows

to a value of 500 - to be safe. It then looked at the first 500 rows
to determine field type rather than the default 8.
