Ok i have my cd collection typed over several excel sheets, consisting of
columns ie artist , song, cd title, duration and then cat number.

Recently i have started to notice that in some entrance where the duration
number is say 02:50 im getting some strange stuff like 8.68E-02 any ideas?

Excel stores time values as a fraction of a day. In your case 2 hours and 5
mins (not 2:50) is stored as 0.0868
Somehow you have these cells displyaed in scientifiic notation 8.68E-02
means 8.68 ×10¯²

Just seelct the cells and format them as time. To see the leading zero use
custom format [hh]:mm
I do not suppose it matter for a catologing purpose that you might mean 2
mins and 5 sec but have stored 2 houes and 5 mins
best wishes
