Excel malfunction

I had to reformat HD saved all important office docs to cd and flash drive. I
have an excel sheet with NC municipality websites which have used for over a
year with no problems in office 2000 office 2003 nor office xp til now after
HD reformat when I click link to site error message is unable to open http so
and so cannot locate the internet server or proxy server. I feel this may be
simple glich in instalation can someone help me correct this?

You should repost your question in a newsgroup supporting Excel; the
Microsoft webpage can be confusing! The first group alphabetically
(this one) is for the database software Microsoft Access. Please
scroll down and repost in an Excel newsgroup.

I would guess it is a association or security issue.
