I'm running XP and cannot get create list function to operate. It simply
doesn't appear as a submenu on the Data menu.

The Data>Create List feature was first introduced in Excel 2003.

Excel XP(2002) does not have that feature.

Thanks for the info Gord

So how do I create that nice functionality in XP? I like it because it
automatically adds another row to my list.

Any clues?

Have you looked at Data>Form for adding data to a new row?

It doesn't have the same functionality and requires blank rows below your data
to add new items to, but works after a fashion.

You can then use Data>Sort and Data>Filter on that range.

David McRitcjie has VBA code for inserting rows and maintaining formulas as you
insert.

John Walkenbach has an Enhanced Data Form.
