Hi there. All of a sudden my Excel is opening very
slowly - 10-20 seconds, when before it would pop open
instantly - everything else seems to be working fine.
Can anyone help?

Do you have Norton and did you do a live update in the last 2 days? If so this
is a problem with the Update and supposed Symantec is working on it.

If you have norton there overnight update has caused some problems.
This is what I have found and posted elsewhere..

Just got through to Norton, as I thought they are now aware of this problem (where not on my first call this morning). The situation can be temporarily rectified by opening up your internet browser. Going to tools/options/advanced then scroll down to security and uncheck the following 2 box's if they are checked.
Check for publisher's certificate revocation
Check for server certificate revocation.

and/OR this post of mine

Just saw this on another group.
I'll bet a lot of people are going to go "Duh!!"
=======
I had the same problem recently.

Double Click the NAV icon in the system tray. Select configure NAV.
Go to Other|Miscellaneous in the left hand column. Uncheck "Enable
Office Plug-in".

Worked for me.
