Excel <> HTML Web page - How ?

I wish to do something very simple but never get the answer how to do it:-

Requirement 1:
I want to create a web page with an input text box and a button. I want when
user key in value in text box on this web page and push the button, the data
sent to a cell in Excel file. Mission impossible ? I do not want Excel >
File > Save as Web.

Requirement 2:
Similar to Requirement 1 except the web have a slide bar. As user drag the
slide bar the value in an cell on Excel worksheet changes.

Help !!!
 
To interact with webpage through the browser consider using Javascript.
 
Thanks. What is the requirement to use Javascript ? I just want to link web
tex input box to a cell in Excel file ....
