Excel - How do I fit 2 lines of text in one cell, vs a long line?

Example:
I need to fit a lot of things in one row
but I hate scrolling all the way over

....As opposed to:
I need to fit a lot of things in one row but I hate scrolling all the way
over

You can insert a "carriage return" in text this way:

Hold down the [Alt] key and press [Enter]

Example using:
I need to fit a lot of things in one row but I hate scrolling all the way
over.

Edit the cell and place the cursor after the word "row"
then....[Alt]+[Enter]
Press [Enter] to finish.

After adjust the column wideht, the text now wraps in the cell and looks
like this:
I need to fit a lot of things in one row
but I hate scrolling all the way over.

Does that help?
