Excel Graphs on Access Forms

I'm kicking around an idea for an Access application that would use (or
recreate) some Excel graphs that I created.
The Excel graphs are on my attempt at a "dashboard" report in Excel and draw
(via links) from various source files to show "live" data from throughout the
facility. I'm wondering about the possibility of having a similar
"dashboard" look on a form in Access.
What I would ultimately like to do is have the dashboard info come up when
the employees need to do something on the computer; so if they want to make a
log entry, the shortest way to get there would be to go to a command button
on a "switchboard" that would also display these dashboard graphs; if the
dashboard info were there, perhaps they'd be more likely to see when a key
process has wandered into a red zone. (or better yet, catch it while it's
just going from "green" to "yellow").
Has Access been used for such things? I have an idea of how to do this in
Excel but I think Access would provide some flexibility to get the
application closer to the image floating in my mind's eye of what I want it
to be.

Access graphs are nearly the same control as Excel graphs. The interface for
creating and designing them is different.
