Excel formulas in sheet not updating?

I will try to make this short, if I can

I have a master inventory sheet with item#'s and prices, this file i
called CURRENT INVENTORY PRICING

Then I have numerous other files which are used for pricing purpose
which I want to update whenever I change prices in the CURREN
INVENTORY PRICING file. (Obviously so I only need to update them o
one sheet as opposed to 50

These other files have standard quantities, so the formula I am usin
for each cell is =A5*'CURRENT INVENTOR
PRICING.XLS'!$C$1346 (Where A5=Quantity an
1346=corresponding cell # in CURRENT INVENTORY FILE)

The problem I am having is the cells don't always update when I ope
the file or when I change or delete a quantity (this is true whethe
or not I have the CURRENT INVENTORY FILE open), BUT when I change
quantity and then I double click the cell containing the formula an
hit enter it does in fact update
Some files work and some don't and I couldn't find ANY differenc
between the files and then when I tried to put a couple sheet
together to post here I found that they don't work consistantly.
Sometimes they update when I change a quantity and sometimes tha
same file doesn't.

Any ideas or maybe another better way to acheive my goal (usin
excel)?

check in 'Tools - Options - Calculations' if 'Automatic Calculation' is
checked
