excel formula problem with Ten column worksheet

I have some experience in excel but not a lot with formulas I a
preparing a ten column worksheet. The formulas need to be abler t
treat balance sheet axxounts differently than income statemen
accounts. How would I do this or can someone give me a starter formul
to at least do debits and credits.

I'm not sure what you are asking for. How treat them differently ? It
would help me, if not others, if you would give examples of what you want to
do with these different accounts ... describe it in terms of cells/columns
in words and then someone will probably be able to put a formula together.

Please note that some of your formulae don't do what I think you want them
to:

=IF(AND(ISBLANK(D5),ISBLANK(E5)),"",B5-E5+E5) in cell F5
