How to change or format the font or font size of row number header & column
letter header in Excel

I am not asking how to change the cell font or font size.
It is the Row Number Header & Column Letter Header that I am interested to
change.
It is in the grey shade on the left (Row Number Header) and top (Column
Letter Header) I am referring to of the Excel file.

Format / Stlye / Normal / Modify / Font , select your changes and ok out

Does this help you?

Apparently you never tried the suggestion.

Are you trying to say it does not work? I did it before I posted, then went
back and did it again making sure I did not miss post something. Works fine
for me!!!!
Maybe a different version it does not. xl2000

I found this post on 4/19/05 5:50 PM PST, and this is where I learned about
changing these fonts. What has changed?

"Monir

Have you tried Format>Style>Normal>Modify.

Change the Font size there for current workbook.

Will affect column and row headers as well as cell fonts(which can be changed
back to what they were).

Please re-read.

I am stating it does work, but OP must not have tried it or he would have seen
Alllen's suggestion was correct.

No problem.

With my recent history, not a bad idea to question my posts at times.

Keeps me honest......sort of<g>

I find that very strange.

But maybe this will help............

To clarify, after following Alllen's suggestion all new workbooks will have the
altered row and column header fonts.

Existing workbooks will have to be changed via the Format>Style method.
