I have tried all the usual methods to reset my fill & font colours back to
the default pallette but they just won't reset.

Tried the tools, options color reset - doidn't work
Tried to copy the colrs from another workbook but as soon as I opened the
workbook that had the palette that I wanted to change it would change all the
other default palettes that were open over to the new color palette.

Please help, very frustrated.

Maybe you need to delete the existing modified palettes. When you use a
modifed palette, it also is applicable to all office programs, not just Excel.

Try reset to default then exit Excel then restart excel and see if any
changes occur. When you change a palette, it is global and affects all past,
present and future files. Those files that used the modified Palette will
also default to the default palette.
