I have an excel document created in excel 02. I now need
to open the doc in excel 2000. It is pwd protected but it
won't open in excel 2000. Is there a work around?

Hi Drew
the file should open in Excel 2000 without a problem (after entering
the password of course). What kind of error do you get?

Hi Frank,

It says the password is wrong. Thing is, I can open it on
my xp machine but not on my win98 or nt4 machine. That's
the problem.

Hi
as a workaround:
- open it in your other machine
- save it without password
- open it on your new machine and save it again with a password

Problem is that I'm on my laptop running 98 and don't have
access to my xp machine. Is this file not compatible
because of encryption. I don't get why I can't open this
file with the passowrd.
