Excel file opening in Read only mode

I AM USING MICROSOFT OFFICE OUTLOOK 2003 ..
WHEN EVER I RECIEVE A MAIL FROM ANYONE CONTAINING " EXCEL OR WORD FILE " IT
ALWAYS OPEN IN " READ - ONLY MODE " ... IF I GO IN TOOLS --> OPTIONS -->
SECURITY : THERE IS NO OPTION OF READ ONLY RECOMMENDED ANY WHERE IN OUTLOOK ..

PLS GIVE SOLUTION TO MY QUERY AS EVERY TIME I HAVE TO SAVE A FILE OR COPY IT
AND THE WORK ON IT ... I WANT TO DIRECTLY WORK ON THE FILE IN OUTLOOK WHEN I
RECIEVE IT.

PLS HELP !!!!!11

Save the file to the hard drive first before trying to edit it.

Best practice note of the day: all CAPS looks like you're shouting out your
question. I'm pretty sure that's not what you're trying to do

I dont wont to save it on the hard drive....my collegues are also using same
outlook but there file opens in write mode ... pls suggest

Then open the mail item and open the attachment. Opening it from the preview
pane results in it being opened read-only.
