excel file corrupt

Hello folks
I cannot open an excel worksheet because excel says the
file is corrupt. Is there a way to retrieve information?
 
You can get file recovery software from www.cimaware.com
but it costs $89, I'm still looking for a way to recover
this without costing me any money.
