Excel.exe closed by windows... how to recover VB macros

Unable to open this file in any way -- always get the same
message "Excel.exe has generated errors & will be closed
by Window. I simply want to export the VB Macros that I
had coded in the workbook to save my work. Any ideas?

I have tried the ideas on the web, but still no luck.
