Excel dragging/selecting and not de-selecting.

Hello, I have a strange one for you and it's not easy to
explain.

I have a couple of users on my network that when they
open Excel 2003 there mouse cursor selects a box and then
when you move your mounse around it draggs selecting all
the boxes and data and there seems to be no way of
deselecting. It just drags!

The only way to get out is to kill excel through task
manager.

Does anyone know if this is a bug or a virus? Does anyone
know of a fix?

Thanks in advance

Mike

Mike - I'm having the same exact problem with Excel. Were you able to find a
solution? I'm on XP (w/o SP2) dell latitude d600. This happens on most
excel files i try to use, both working on it locally and from a shared
location. Please let me know if you've found out anything. Thanks! - JB

UGH! I have the same problem. Occasionally, rebooting "fixes" the problem,
but today it has NOT done any good. I have lots of memory, so I don't think
that's the issue. HELP!!

Yesterday I replaced my 5-yr-old mouse with a new mouse with a USB connection
(don't know if the connection made a difference or not), but have not had
this problem at all today, despite my numerous tries at getting Excel to do
this. Good luck!
