Excel docs opening in Taskbar ...

How do you get new Excel docs to open in their 'own'
taskbar window ( as opposed to opening as a new file in
the existing Excel task ) ? I went to Tools/Options/View
and checked Windows in Taskbar, which seemed to fix it on
other machines, but for some reason does not resolve it on
this one particular machine. This was working fine as
recently as Monday. I tried the Repair and Reinstall
options too. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks ... p.s. Its Excel 2000 from an Office Pro install
w/the most recent updates.
