Excel doc Acces Denied...

Hi,

One of my users needs to open an excel file and make some changes -
problem is someone else on the network has it opened.

Is there any sort of application available that can work out which user
or process ID is currently locking the excel document?

Hi Saleek

If you go to Tools - Options in Excel itself you can add in tab General and field User-Name a name of the user. This should be kept in the Excel settings - need to be done once for each PC / User

In case someone else opens the file while it is in use, Excel should mention in a message window who is working on it
