Excel data corruption

I have a problem were data is being moved from old
spreadsheets into current sheets replacing the valid
data. Not all columns are affected. The first 8 columns
are used as base data each mth and survey data punched
into the next 7-9 columns. This is done each month with
new base data and new survey input. What I am finding is
that the base data in the first colums is OK but the new
survey data is being corrupted with data from prior
months. This does not happen to all rows but it is more
than random. Severalconsecutive rows can be corrupted
followed by non affected rows. There are no links, macros
or any other form of link I can find. We use a new sheet
each month and do not reference any prior month data. We
do not use a template from the template file area or an
xlt extension. The problem is serious and I can not
replicate it at will. However it has happened over a 7
mth period getting worse as time goes on. The only
functions used are cut and paste. There are no formulas.
Any ideas??????

Suggestion only:
Do not use cut and paste method

Use the cell value of one workbook to the other

I think I'd try creating a new workbook.

copy the cells in the troubled worksheet.
edit|paste special|values
(and edit|paste special|formats????)

And see if the new workbook suffers the same malady.
