I have a file with a lot of data and graphs. When I try to hit print
(sometimes), Excel will just close down. Any ideas on how I can trouble
shoot this?

The event viewer is a good place to start. Also can you recreate the problem
or is it just sporadic.

Thanks. What is the event viewer?
The problem appeared each time I printed one particular sheet from this
file.
I found out what the problem was ... there were some defined names that were
referencing an incorrect path, causing conflict in one of my formula's. i
deleted and re-did the named areas, ensured they were consistent, and the
problem disappeared.
Thank you for your response. Would still be interested in finding out more
about 'event viewer'

You can find the event viewer in your control panel under Administrative
Tools. Every event (for the most part) is captured and able to be viewed with
this tool. I use the Application snapin for troubleshooting alot. Let's say
you got this error or crash at 3:01 pm. After you recover from the error,
reboot or whatever, you can go to the even viewer and look at the application
event log at 3:01 and see what happened. There is a link in the viewer that
sometimes takes you to Microsoft's website with a workaround or just
information regarding the problem you had.
