Excel Copy and Paste Special problem

P

Peter Scott-Jones

Hi, please can you help me?

I have an Excel 2007 file with 5 worksheets that link to each other so for example cell A9 in worksheet 4 = cell b10 in worksheet 3, and so on. Some of the links are quite complex and include IF(ISNA(Vlookup etc.to pick up information from another sheet that has been checked & found in a list held on one of the other worksheets.

Everything starts from worksheet 1.

My problem is that when I overwrite worksheet 1 with the new week's summary using a copy of another and different spreadsheet the copy over destroys all my formulae in worksheet 2,3,4 etc.

I have checked things line up and all the paste special options ticked etc. so how do I update worksheet one with my new data?

Thankyou Eggheads O;-))

You probably need to use INDIRECT or defined names

If desired, send your file to my address below. I will only look if:
1. You send a copy of this message on an inserted sheet
2. You give me the newsgroup and the subject line
3. You send a clear explanation of what you want
4. You send before/after examples and expected results.
