Excel - Compile Error

I am running Office 2003 SP1. When I open or close an excel spreadsheet I get
the folA protected module can't be displayed. This error has the following
cause and solution:

There is a compilation error in the code of the specified module, but it
can't be displayed because the project is protected.
Unprotect the project, and then run the code again to view the error.

For additional information, select the item in question and press F1(in
Windows) or HELP (on the Macintosh).
lowing error message "Compile error in hidden module AutoExecNew".

I do not understand this - can anyone help?

I believe you have a poorly programmed or outdated add-in installed on your

Thanks - it looks like it another problem related to Adobe Acrobat. I had
5.0.5 installed which Adobe says is not supported for Office 2003. I have
uninstalled it, but these problems continue to occur. Starting Word 2003 also
brings up a message about PDF Add-ins which have to be disabled.
