Excel client list in to Outlook

I am trying to get my Holiday cards in to outlook from excel. Some of the
names are already in outlook. I am using the 2003 version of outlook and
excel.

AFAIK, you'll have to name the range that contains the data in Excel.
There are instructions in Excel's Help, and here:

In Outlook, when you import (File>Import and Export), one of the steps
in the Wizard should allow you to select an option for dealing with
duplicate data.
