Excel Character Limit

I am trying to enter large digits into excel but when i enter
character larger than 16 digits excel changes that number into a 0, i
there a way to change this 16 digit limit

not within XL, but there are add-ins that purport to do so. I've never
tried them. Here's one:

OTOH, if you're only trying to enter a 16-digit credit card number,
preformat the cell as Text (or prefix the entry with an apostrophe),
since you're unlikely to do any math on the number.

The limit is 15 digits, what comes after gets truncated to zero
Assuming you don't want to calculate with these numbers just format cells as
text or precede the entry with an apostrophe '
