does anyone know a workaround the excel character max in a cell ??? I am importing a delimited text file - one column has 1050 characters ---

Nope. There are other programs that function better as word processors
though.
 
Ever since xl97, the maximum characters per cell has been about 32k.

Is there a chance that the cell contains the delimiter and that's causing you to
exceed the 256 column worksheet limit?
