Excel autofit and word wrap

We are having difficulty getting automatically generated excel documents to
format correctly with respect to column headings. When using the column
autofit feature along with word wrap, Excel is actually breaking multiple
word headings in the middle of words. For example, SHAREHOLDERS' EQUITY is
appearing as
SHAREHOLD
ERS' EQUITY
The headings may be translated to other languages, so we don't know the
appropriate widths ahead of time.

That's what Excel does, might help a little to use mixed case
and bold font for your column headers, if that is not what you are doing.

Once you drag the column line to modify the column width (or double click),
or use Format, column, width, hen Excel figures you know the column width that
you want and if Excel can't fit whole words in the width it will spit the word.

Since you have already done that you might make the column wider, because
Excel will not widen the column after you have forced a width.

If you force the height of a row, you may start losing display of the bottom lines.
