Excel Autofiltering

Greetings all,

Just a quick question about something that has been getting on my nerves
with Excel lately: how come sometimes when you do an autofilter on
spreadsheet data it tells you in the bottom left corner how many records
match the criteria, and sometimes it just says "Autofilter"?
