Excel Auto-Format cell to email format

I’m have a problem with Excel 2000 auto formatting cells that have an @
symbol in them as an email (i.e. 03-20-2006@3). How do I turn this off?
 
You can precede the entry with an apostrophe when you enter and for the
values that are already links you can copy an empty cell, select the links
(using arrow keys) and do edit>paste special and select add
