excel attachments

I am able to download and save .xls attachments from e-mails to my computer
but can only view them. i need to be able to open these attachments and edit
the info in them for work but i can only open them and view them. Can someone
tell me how to be able to go into these attachments and edit them. I have the
windows xp home edition.

You'll need to purchase and install either Microsoft Office
or Microsoft Excel. These programs are available at your
favorite store that sells computer software.

You apparently have the free Excel reader which is designed to read
only with no capability to create or modify documents.
You will need Excel:
