Excel adds in weekend dates

Hi there,

I'm trying to graph stock price data vs. date, but
whenever I graph the two on an area or line graph, excel
(2000) automatically adds in the missing two weekend
dates.

I definitely don't want these dates as it makes my chart
look funny and does not truly represent the data. I can
just plot the data vs. numbers (i.e. 1,2,3,4,5, etc) but
this isn't much help when I'm trying to determine dates
from the graph.

Any ideas on how to get Excel to graph just the dates
within my data set and not the additional weekend dates?

Please help!

You can change the axis from a date scale to a category axis. Right
click on the chart, choose Chart Options, and click on the Axes tab.
Change the Category Axis option to Category.
