Excel 97 vs 95

I just installed 97 after using 95 forever. One question...

WIth 95, when I enter a value in a cell, and then hit "enter", the cursor
moves to the cell directly below. With 97, it moves to the next row, far
left cell.

Is there a way to change it to move directly down one cell? The Down Arrow
key is not in a convenient place on this keyboard to use this way.

Thanks.

Bob,

When you select Tools > Options > Edit What direction is set in the "Move
after Entry" direction?

Down. But now I check it and it does move directly down on 'enter.'
Maybe it 'learned' this?

It depends on how you move, if you tab across let's say from A1 to E1, then
type data into E1 and press enter it will go to A2, if you use the arrow key
from A1 to E1 it will go to E2

Interesting. I've only ever used XL with the *Right* selection. It used to
drive me crazy when I was assisting someone else who had *down* selected but
I can see how useful that it could be for quick data entry.
