Excel 2007 - User interface

Hi

Is there anyway to replace the new Excel 2007 interface with the old
interface, for example
the menu items "Developer" "Addins", "Review" menus are irrelevant in the
majority of spreadsheet cases we use.

Using the old-style keysequence: Alt+T -> i to bring up the addins menu, I
clicked upon:

Analysis ToolPak
Analysis ToolPak-VBA
Conditional Sum Wizard
etc.

but after installing them,. nothing was shown under the "Addins" menu....
are they installed by default ... if so why would having doing the above,
brought up the "Configuration Process" GUI ? How can I see what "addins"
have been installed ? And how can I uninstall them....

The Add-in tab is for old add-ins for Excel 2003 and earlier. If an add-in
has been updated for Excel 2007 its control buttons, if it has any, will go
on whichever tab the developers thought made sense. In the case of the
Analysis Toolpak it is the Data tab (right end).

So, is there no easy way to manage add ins as a group in the newer version ?

Actually I think things are a little better in Excel 2007 than 2003. This
is because you can see all the available add-ins on one screen via Excel
Options, Add-ins. The list includes all kinds of add-ins, i.e., XLA, COM,
smart tag and document inspectors (new in 2007 I think). When you want to
activate/deactivate an add-in you do it via a drop down at the bottom of the
dialog which pops up the same old dialogs from 2003. But at least, if you
want to manage COM add-ins, you don't have to manually add the COM add-in
command bar control to a toolbar (or walk a user through it over the
phone<g>).
