I have always used Excel 97 to track and record my investments. Recently I
started using Excel 2007 with my old Excel worksheets. What I do is use Move
or Copy... to copy the previous day's worksheet for the current day, so I
can update my positions and prices.

Now when I do this with Excel 2007, I always get this message:

"A formula or sheet you want to move or copy contains the name
'Print_Area_MI', which already exists on the destination worksheet. Do you
want to use this version of the name?"

I have no idea what that's about since I have never used any such name on
anything. I just click Yes and that takes care of it, but is there some way
I can stop this pesky message from reappearing every time I do this?

Hi,

Everytime you print Excel creates a defined name for the print range. When
you are copying from one sheet to another the named ranges go along. In this
case it means you would have two identical name in the workbook.

You can probably eliminate this message by 1. Selecting a range on the
source sheet that you want to copy, not the whole sheet, 2. Copy, 3. Move to
the target sheet and Paste.

Excel gives a print range its own name.

Check on Ribbon Formulas>Define Name.

I'm sure you will find the print_area name there.

You can delete it then copy the sheet or simply ignore the warning and click
Yes.

If this helps, please click the Yes button.

I didn't find any name in Define Name, but you put me in the right area.
When I looked in Name Manager there it was, for each sheet and also the
workbook. I deleted 'em and now that's fixed. Thanks!
