Excel 2007: Stacked column chart with white data labels

Luca Brasi

I'm trying to save a stacked column chart with white data labels (position
inside centered) as custom chart type template in Excel 2007. All other text
in the chart is black.

If I insert new chart based on this template the data labels are in white.
However, if I add more data series, the data labels appear in black. I would
like to have the data labels always in white (without manually having to
reformat them).

Is there a way to achieve this? Thanks for any hints.

Hi,

1. You could make a template with lots of extra series formatted as you want
2. You could write a VBA program to change the formatting

However, there is no way built-in to do this.

That would be a great "to-do" for MS. Make certain elements of the
menu-ing system allow for user choice/setting of default selection(s).
It should be obvious which "startup" elements a user might want to make
his or her own.
