excel 2007 number formatting

When I select "thousands separator" when fomatting numbers, the result
appears for example as 1,11,111.00 instead of 111,111.00. Please help.
 
Someone has messed with your Excel setting to use Indian formatting.
Use Format | Style and in the Style Name box open Comma
You should see _-* #,##0.00_-;-* #,##0.00_-;_-* "-"??_-;_-@_-
If not then edit the style to correct it.
