When I draw a line in Excel 2007 the color is blue. How do I change the
default color to black?

Put the mouse over the line. Right click, choose format shape, choose line
colour.

default color to black?

If you want to change the default line color so each new line you draw on
the worksheet is the same color, do this:

1. Draw the blue line
2. Set the color to black
3. Right click the line and select "Set as default line"

Now all new lines that you draw will be black.

Note that the color change will only be applicable to that workbook.

Hi, Sorry I couldn't get you to the "exact" instructions but after you copy
and paste this link follow the instructions from where you see "Excel"
written in gold color text. I just tried it out and it's easy. You're just
basically changing the default theme (sort of like changing the old default
template in XL 2003). I'm glad I tried it because I changed mine so now all
my new workbooks automatically contain the look I want! Good Luck!

The problem with this suggestion if, for example, if you draw a arrowhead
line and then change the color and "set as default" every line you draw
thereafter is a black arrowhead line, i.e. you cannot draw a line without an
arrowhead! When you set as a default how do you unset it? I cannot work that
out too.

Greg - I hope you did in fact copy that link because clicking on it won't
work; it had a break in it. I copied and pasted and it worked. If you did
it already, were you successful?

Hi

You can undo it, by right-clicking>>Format Shape>>Line
Settings>>changing the arrow settings (no arrow)
And setting that line as default.

I guess if you need to change only the color you can do that by
setting the "simple" line as default instead of an arrow line.

Thanks,
Victor
