Excel 2007 column limit using Excel 2003 with compatability pack

B

BRRNESE

I have a complex spreadsheet and we have run out of columns on several of the
worksheets. I use Excel 2007 my client uses Excel 2003 so I hope the file in
compatibility mode.

If he installs the compatibility pack would he be able to see the increased
# of columns beyond 265 while still using Excel 2003 or must he upgrade?

I have saved the file in the new format but still cannot view more than 265
columns on the worksheets - is there a way I can expand that in Excel 2007 or
do I have to copy each page to a worksheet in a new file?

Thank you for your help,

Kathie

No, he won't, the compatibility pack converts the 2007 file to a 2003 with
2003 limitations (it's 256 columns)

If you want to share the file you should use the limitations and usability
of 2003 when working in 2007, then save it in 97-2003 file format
