Excel 2002 - Column Labels are Numbers not Letters

On my Excel 2002 worksheets my column labels are numbers
just like the row labels. I expect to see letters. How
do I change this?
 
Peter,

Go to the Tools menu, choose Options, then the General tab. There, uncheck
the "R1C1 reference style" setting.
