Excel 2002 can't read files

All of a sudden, my excel 2002 reports all my files as "unable to read".
They can be opened on other computers. I've tried repairing Office and
running a virus scan, but it still won't work. Even new files won't open
again after I save them once.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Disable the Office Plugin that comes with Symantec/Norton AntiVirus. See
