EXCEL 2000 - Send to mail recipient as attachment

Hi,
I am not to good at excel and needs a little help for one
of my users:

She can't send an excel-file as attachment to mail
recipient within excel. The button under "file" is marked
grey so she can't use it.

How do I bring it back?

The old fashion way works so no problem with the mail.
The installation of office is complete also, if that
would have anything to do with it.
