Excel 2000 Program Error

The OS is Windows 2000 with service pack 4 and Office 2000.

I receive the following error when starting Excel.
Excel.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created.

This is what was done so far:
1. Ran the Detect and Repair utility.
2. Uninstalled the Office Suite the reinstalled. Same problem occurs.
3. Started Excel in Safe Mode - Excel.exe /Safe (Excel starts fine).
4. Re-register Excel with Windows using Excel.exe /RegServer.
5. Renamed the .xlb file to .old. Still the same problem.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Start it in safe mode and uncheck all installed add-ins, restart and if the
problem is gone check one by one until you get the error again thus finding
the culprit. Also look if you have something in any startup folder and
remove and put back them as well..
