excel 2000 overide

I was sent an excel file from a PC running Windows XP. I
have Windows ME, Excel 2000. I could not open the file I
was sent and now I cannot open my original Excel program.
Message tells me to insert Windows Professional disk,
which I don't have. My systems restore was disabled so I
can't restore to earlier date. How can I get my Excel
back?

Try reinstalling Excel/Office. Insert the Office CD, choose
UnInstalll, then when this is done, run the Install program.
