Excel 2000 crashes during cut and paste

Running Office 2K Professional under XP. Service pack 3 for Office. Cut
and paste operations frequently cause Excel to crash. Debug reporting
option appears, but nothing that explains the problem. The problem seems
worse if the clipboard has more than one entry.

Any ideas?

Just a wild guess, but sounds like something has gotten corrupted in your
Excel installation. I would reboot, un-install Office, reboot again, and
re-install Office. I would also delete the XLB file which may have gotten
corrupted. It is a hidden file so set your search accordingly to find it.
It stores your toolbar and menu settings.

Lastly, Excel 97/2000 when I used it was prone to crashes. Excel 2003 is far
more stable. I don't recommend Excel 2007 unless you want to suffer and
work slow.
