Exceed textbox 255 character limit

Is there a way to exceed the 255 character limit for textboxes?

I have a Description field that I want to be able to accept 1250 characters
long. Is there a way that I can make five textboxes transparent to the user.
So that it look like one big text field?

Textboxes don't have a 255 character limit. Text *fields* have a 255
character limit. To store more than 255 characters, change the data type of
the field from Text to Memo.
