Ewido anti-trojan - any opinions?
It would be good to have a decent free anti-trojan!

Works.
Became much faster with the latest update.

I don't use the "payware part". When I did
in the past this "Hintergrundwächter" {Guard
in background} slowed my system too much.

nice program...the guard slows the machine like the other poster says..gives
malware warning of jv16..disagree about that one, though. Run and leave
your room or desktop while you raid the frig. turn up the sound and you
will hear a nice siren to let you know it found something so run back,
investigate and decide to delete and backup or no, then it will
continue...nice progra.
sorry about my writing...hurricane dennis's outer bands are bearing down and
the lightening is telling me to disconnect and protect this Hewlett-Packard
from static discharges in the atmosphere...lol

consists in being nothing at all. ___________Soren Kierkegaard

At <http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/acf/P_CategoryIndex.php>
a searh to find the "anti-trojan" category provides
a link:
<http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/acf/P_SECURITY.php#1.30Anti-Trojan>

listed there, in the Anti-trojan category:

1.30 Anti-Trojan a-squared Free (a² Free)
1.30 Anti-Trojan a-squared HiJackFree (a² HiJackFree)
1.30 Anti-Trojan ANTS (v 2.1) (v2.1 is LFW)
1.30 Anti-Trojan Ewido Security Suite
1.30 Anti-Trojan HTAstop
1.30 Anti-Trojan Swat It

for links, se page. I belive Ants, HTAstop and Swat it are
special-purpose tools, only a-squared is a general scanner
comparable to the Ewido Suite.

All the best,
Bjorn Simonsen

Correction (memory refresh needed - had a look), it seems Swat-it and
Ants are general trojan scanners too (not sure about Ants though,
don't understand German very well, and since v. 2.1. is the LF (last
freeware version) I would guess updated signature-files for it is not
an option..(?)).

Ah yes, there is nothing quite like a good frig raid. :)

I use Ewido and while it is a little slow to load I
have found it to be thorough.

Cheers,
Marko.

Ants is dead, the successor is A2 squared.

I thought Swat it is dead.

Ants is still on the ACF list because it was PW in 2002. IIRC a-squared Free is not a direct
successor, I believe it has two or more ancestors.
