Does anyone know how to import evt log files from event
viewer into word or excel that are good readable files.

I have not tried it but Ntlast from Foundstone or PsLoglist form
Sysinternals may be worth a try are free. MS also has dumpel as free

dumpevt from Somarsoft (www.somarsoft.com) will allow you to dump the
event logs into a .csv file which you can then open automatically with
excel if you're running it from a batch file

dumpevt is also free (www.somarsoft.com) although you have to 'register'
for the download.. personally I prefer it to dumpel (although it's been
so long since I've used dumpel I couldn't tell you why anymore)
