Can anyone knows about the following 2 application error
messages:

Event ID: 1229
Description:
The description for Event ID ( 1229 ) in Source ( NTDS )
cannot be found. The local computer may not have the
necessary registry information or message DLL files to
display messages from a remote computer. The following
information is part of the event: 2.

Type: Error
Event ID: 1008
Description:
The Open Procedure for service "NTDS" in
DLL "C:\WINNT\system32\ntdsperf.dll" failed. Performance
data for this service will not be available. Status code
returned is data DWORD 0.
Data (bytes):
0000: dc f3 e8 00 Üóè.

Lawnkf,

You only provided a couple of event log errors but no other information so
there is no way for me to know exactly what broken. However, I have done
some searches on your errors and here is what I have found:

1. The NTDS 1229 error - the only thin that I could find on this was that
in one case these errors were caused by antivirus software. You might try
disabling your antivirus software and see if the error goes away. If so,
try a updating to a more recent version of your AV software.

2. The perflib 1008 error - normally these types of perflib errors are the
result of some misconfiguration of your perfmon logging. These errors are
usually benign.

If this does not help, please provide more information regarding the
problems that you are having.

Thank you for your reply. I only see this two error
messages together promted out in event log in every few
minutes. No any other errors are shown.
